Ladies and Gentlemen, I am an American citizen, and I have something to say to The World.

Today as a proud American I am experiencing many emotions, from moment to moment I cycle through a range of emotions from righteous indignation, paralyzing sadness, and systematic resolve.

The world has changed dramatically in the last week and it hasn’t changed at all in the last 2000 years.

If you are a person that wants to live at peace with your fellow human and have little ambition beyond the noble endeavor of providing sustenance, comfort, and happiness for yourself and the ones that you love, then it is likely you are confused, scared, angry, apathetic or feeling a host of other emotions in this moment.

We are living now at a crossroads not just for The United States but for the entire world, and we must pick a path or have a path chosen by the tide which is rising each day.

One path is well worn, because it is the path which has been walked for millennia.

This is the path which was forged by the one who is ‘King of The Soil’, and it is a path that feels easy to walk among those for whom nihilism masquerades as spirituality and those for whom fear is their captain.

Some who have walked this path have been called ‘great’ by those who put history on paper; and yet along this path for each one who has been called ‘great’ there are millions more who have been slain, millions who have been subjugated, and millions for whom fear hides the light deep inside.

We, all of humanity, can choose to forge a new path in the 21st century that is centered on basic principles that respect the right of each human that is grounded, in part, by the truth that whatever the source of the light which has been gifted to each of us neither I nor anyone else has the power to create it and neither do they have the right to snuff it out.

This path is not well tread, it is overgrown with thorns, pitfalls, and the inevitable fear that arises from walking a path that has not been well traveled.

This path belongs NOT to the ‘King of The Soil’, but to the one who spoke the soil into existence and to the one who gave humans the tools to walk it.

We can choose to clear the path for those who may come behind so that they may realize in full the wealth of blessing that is all around or we can be dragged back across the bridge to the violent misanthropy of the 20th century.

As it relates to current events much of it is as predictable as it is unsettling and in my lower moments I feel the anger that comes from watching acts of violence being carried out in the name of what I call my country, The United States of America.

At times I am ready to gear up and focus all that rage on the duplicitous politicians, princes, and war merchants who have violated the laws of the country I call home, the same country on whose behalf they purport to wage war.

As my anger subsides I am reminded of the words found in Ecclesiastes:

‘For everything there is a season’.

Now is not the time to kill, because if one fights fire with fire then all that is gained is more fire.

Now is the season to speak.

Now is the time to stand up for yourself, for your progeny, and for your deepest notions of decency,

And now is the season to plant that which may be plucked when the season has come.

I am not a man of exceptional means or power, I have only my voice, my experience, and my resolve to do whatever I can to preserve that which I truly value.

Just as the widow gave her two mites, I shall give what I have to the cause of peace and the cause of truth.

So I shall stand, I shall speak, and I shall plant.

What shall I say?

To The Victims

Firstly, I say to all the people who have been directly affected on the ground by this war including the peoples of

  • Iran,
  • Saudi Arabia,
  • Oman,
  • Yemen,
  • UAE,
  • Iraq,
  • Syria,
  • and yes even Israel;

I say that I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences for the suffering, fear, and loss that everyone is undoubtedly experiencing.

I will say further that I am an American Citizen, born and raised in the heartland of The United States and I, with emphatic sincerity condemn this act of lawless aggression which has been carried out by the now criminal President of The United States, Donald J. Trump, and his apparent master The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.

I along with millions of regular Americans do not approve of this absolutely insane decision to attack the sovereign nation of Iran and murder the Cleric Ayatollah Khomeini.

This action will have lasting repercussions and it was carried out in open violation not just of international law, but in violation of the laws of my country, The United States of America.

I say truly that this is the work of The Evil One.

To The Muslims, Christians, and Warriors

To those Muslims around the world for whom The Ayatollah Khomeini was a spiritual leader, I speak as a faithful follower of Īsā ibn Maryam, and I recognize you all as children of The Almighty God and consider you my brothers and sisters.

I know that the words of The Prophet Mohammed, may peace be upon him, are true when he said that among ‘the believers…Allah will judge between them’.

We are all of us to be judged by The Almighty and all of us shall be judged according to His will.

Inshallah we may live in peace and be subject to The Golden Rule as articulated by Jesus Christ in The Gospel of Matthew 7:12

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

To those in The United States who may support this causeless war and who claim to follow Jesus Christ, I say:

There is no glory in war except for The Devil and there is absolutely no Christian basis, in scripture or tradition, for the wanton destruction and murder that this war has brought and will bring if it is allowed to continue.

The Muslims and The Christians both believe that we shall all be judged by The Almighty God as Jesus Christ sits upon His right hand.

What might He say, as you stand before Him to be judged if you continue to promote this destruction of what He has created? Only God may know, but I encourage you to prayerfully consider if you are walking the path that Jesus Christ would walk.

To all the warriors who fight in this conflict whether they wear the uniform of The United States, Iran, or any other nation, I will pray that you are granted the strength to conduct yourselves with honor as you fulfill your duty and that The Spirit of God shall grant you safety.

I pray further that I may be granted the wisdom and strength to do what I can in my own country to bring an end to this causeless slaughter of God’s children.


To Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald J Trump

To Benjamin Netanyahu, I say:

You do not represent my country, my nation, or my faith.

It is plain to see that you are driven by an evil spirit that seeks only to destroy.

Whatever evil resides in you will suffer very much the same fate as they who had been called Legion.

I shall pray that you are forgiven, just as I have been forgiven, and for your sake I hope, when the time comes, that there are plenty of swine nearby.


To Donald J. Trump, I say:

You may also be forgiven, if The Almighty wills it, but at this point it’s a roll of the dice, if I had to guess.

I doubt sincerely that you have ever read the words of Jesus, but perhaps you have heard that he has said:

“Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and Render unto God that which is God’s.”

You are free to take that which is yours, but you are neither Caesar nor do you have right to that which you have claimed.

You have been given the title of President of The United States which grants you neither privileges nor immunity.

The title of President of The United States grants:

  • A stipend in the form of salary
  • Residence in The White House
  • Security as granted by congress,
  • And a budget to carry out your duties and obligations.

You are obliged by the constitution and pursuant to the oath you swore upon The Holy Bible to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and to the best of [your] ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States”.

Pursuant to The Constitution, to which you swore an oath, under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 the power to declare war rests with The Congress of The United States of America.

Mr. Trump, because of your illegal actions in Venezuela, Ecuador, and Iran, you are now in open violation of The Constitution of The United States and your own oath to the same.

You have brazenly engaged in violence that violates the laws of my country, the laws of human decency, and the God granted rights of the men, women, and children that you have murdered and maimed.

You are as of this moment a criminal president, accordingly all uniformed military personnel are duty bound to disobey any orders in furtherance of your criminal activity.

You are duty bound to surrender yourself unconditionally to the nearest lawful representative of The United States of Government, where you will be granted a fair trial and judged by a jury of your peers.

There are 3 branches of government as outlined in The Constitution:

  • Executive,
  • Legislative,
  • And Judicial.

Each of these three branches stem from a common root which is outlined in The Constitution’s Preamble, and it reads:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution.

If there are 3 branches of government then The People are its root, and you, Mr. Trump, serve only at the pleasure of The People and only so long as you execute your duties faithfully.

If you believe that you are protected by Congress’ unwillingness to act, I would suggest that you read carefully the enumerated rights found in the 9th amendment of The Constitution and then read the founding document of my Nation, The Declaration of Independence.

To The Great Nations of The World

To the many great Nations of the world I say,

The Nation which I call, The American Nation, desires to live in peace through

the trade of value, the exchange of culture, the sincere expression of faith, and the sharing of The Earth’s abundance through peaceful negotiation.

Many great nations of The Earth have longed for a land they may call their own,

A longing whose shadow is still cast upon the wild olive trees at the base of Musa Dagh (Mountain of Moses),

A longing that wails along The Temple Mount,

It is a longing that pooled like rain in the cart tracks left on The Great American plains as Mormon Pioneers walked on their way to Zion,

And it’s a longing that cries from the mouth of an orphaned Palestinian child.

All great nations know that it is a grievous cut that a Nation might be without a State, just as they know that it is a horrible sin to have a State without a Nation.

This man, Mr. Trump, is wielding the apparatus of State, an apparatus of state which for all its destructive awesomeness is bereft of Nation.

I say here today, to all who may hear, as a proud citizen of The American Nation and as a child of God, to whom I shall answer, that the actions of Donald J. Trump are the illegal actions of a vile and treacherous man.

Donald J. Trump, whatever else you may know him as, is a fugitive of justice from The American Nation.

To all the great Nations of the world I say that if you believe in the idea that all of us are equal in the eyes of The Almighty,

if you are interested in mutual exchange to mutual benefit,

if you believe that none of us are above the natural law,

and if you desire peaceful coexistence with the great peoples of the world,

then you are in league with The American Nation.

Most probably know that one of the founding documents of The American Nation was The Declaration of Independence, but it was but a scrap of paper upon which was written grandiose sentiments, until it became The Declaration of Independence when a man by the name of John Hancock signed his name to it.

The act of signing this declaration was an act of self,

it was an act of defiance,

and it was an act for which he would surely hang, it was a bold and dangerous act of freedom.

It was a founding moment of The American Nation.

The story of John Hancock is a compelling origin that some might call revolutionary, and they would be wrong.

It was not a revolution, it was a revival.

Indeed, America has been founded many times since 1776 and many times before.

America was founded when Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses,

It was founded when John Brown raided Harpers Ferry,

It was founded when Pancho Villa wrote el Manifiesto al Pueblo Mexicano,

America was founded when Malcolm X first made his pilgrimage to Mecca,

America was founded in the mudpits of Guadalcanal,

And on a Montgomery bus when Rosa Parks signed her own bold and dangerous act for freedom.

America is being founded even now.

Yet, for all the love I have for The American Nation.

I still remember well the words of the Protestant reformer, John Bradford:

There but for the grace of God go I.

I remember that before I was given breath, I was given life and a belonging among The Fellowship of Humanity, and further I belong to a fellowship of nations.

To My Fellow Americans

To my fellow Citizens of The American Nation, especially those who may be afraid or uncertain.

I want to tell you about F.U.D, it was taught to me by an old friend.

He was a medic in The Marine Corps, and he taught me about F.U.D:

Fear,

Uncertainty,

and Doubt.

I never spoke to him about it, but I would imagine that fear, uncertainty, and doubt came up quite a bit for a Marine Corps medic.

My friend taught me that fear, uncertainty, and doubt can be your downfall in a crisis and that it is as inevitable as it is natural.

Fear is your friend, it alerts you to danger, but it cannot be in charge.

Thanks fear, and no you cannot be in charge.

Uncertainty helps us validate our own reasoning and mitigates myopia, but it cannot be in charge.

Thanks uncertainty, and no you cannot be in charge.

Doubt keeps the I from drowning out the we and the we from drowning out the me.

Thanks doubt, and no you cannot be in charge.

I jumps when it seems too far, so that WE may advance.

Thanks I, and no you cannot be in charge.

The Problem is in charge, everywhere and always.

My fellow Americans, we have a problem.

We have problems of immediate concern that we must confront head on.

We have the problem of a criminal government, which I have just outlined, but this problem is merely the symptom of a significantly more malignant disease.

For too long we have kicked this problem down the road like a bored boy who kicks a rock along a dirt road.

Since the allied victory in WW2 Americans have enjoyed a global financial regime, which enabled The United States Government to fund its wars of empire and the profligacy that has metastasized into the full blown kleptocracy that we can see around us today.

The global financial regime which enabled this garish gluttony is known as The Petro Dollar.

The Petro Dollar is the explicit agreement with a global oil cartel known as the Oil Producing and Exporting Countries (OPEC), that all oil will be traded in US dollars.

This agreement has allowed The United States Government and the Corporate interests, which control it to have nearly unlimited access to capital through the sale of US Treasuries.

If one ignores the current malaise that the Petro Dollar has wrought, it felt like a pretty sweet setup, but what it means in practice is that all you see around you, whether you see it on the streets of New York, the corn fields of Iowa, or when you are mesmerized by an F35 at a football game.

All of it is financed with debt made possible by The Petro Dollar.

In the first 232 years of The United States’ existence and leading up to the so-called ‘Great Recession’ in 2008, The United States Government had accumulated approximately $10 trillion dollars in debt.

In the interceding 18 years since ‘The Great Recession’ in 2008 the United States Government has accumulated an additional $26 trillion dollars of debt.

So, in the last 18 years we have accumulated 3 times the debt total from the first 232 years.

So much debt in fact that as of now The United States Government spends more on interest to service its debt than it spends each year at the Pentagon.

The total interest costs to The United States Government amounts to over $1.2 trillion dollar for each fiscal year.

This number represents nearly a quarter of all tax receipts in The United States and its share of total receipts is growing by the day, because The United States Government is currently operating at a budget deficit that is nearly $2 trillion dollars annually.

For The United States Government the only expense that is larger than interest payments is Social Security payments, which according to official estimates will no longer be able to pay full benefits by the year 2033.

While none of this is ultimately sustainable in the long run, it was at least manageable, in theory, if demand for US Debt, made possible by The Petro Dollar held steady.

Even before the events of the last week The Petro Dollar was already on weak footing, in part due to an economic alliance that involves many countries, but most notably it includes:

  • Brazil
  • Russia
  • India
  • China
  • South Africa

Collectively this alliance is known as B.R.I.C.S.

This economic alliance is an explicit challenge to the hegemony of The Petro Dollar and indeed it has been succeeding as Saudi Arabia began in January 2024 to sell its oil in currencies other than The United States Dollar.

Through wise and careful leadership accompanied by much needed austerity measures from The United States Government, perhaps this economic challenge might have been successfully managed, such that it would not be catastrophic.

Unfortunately in The United States we have neither wisdom nor care from the so-called ‘leadership’, especially as it relates to managing the complex realities of the 21st century.

If the steady decline of The Petro Dollar was a significant challenge before, it has now become a crisis and it cannot be kicked further down the road, for the road has ended and all that exists now is a massive chasm.

The violence which has been wrought in the last several days is but the opening salvo of what will be in its totality an economic war that The United States of America is in no position to win.

There is a war on, but it is not fought in a foreign battlefield.

As with so much in life the real war is within,

It is a war within our country’s borders,

It is a war within ourselves,

And it is a war which will decide the fate of our Nation’s soul.

There will be forces within and without which will attempt to sow division among the only force which has a chance of winning this war: The American People.

It would be a lie to say that what will come won’t be hard.

It will be hard.

The challenges we will face as a Nation will test the resolve of every American.

But we will face these hard times with stoic resolve to confront hard truths without the filter of comfort, but with the endless optimism, hope, and grit which made our destiny manifest 2 centuries ago.

We will win this war by rejecting the appeals to hate, which can seem so sweet in moments of turmoil.

We will win this war by remembering the words of Jesus Christ who said ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself’, and recognizing that if we cannot love ourselves, then what chance do the neighbors have.

We will win this war by seeking those things which used to be called ‘The American Way’, namely truth and justice.

And we will win this war by confronting those who, without right and without the consent of The People murder in our name.

For as the late United States Senator Barry Goldwater once said:

“I would remind you that extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.”

Let me say further and only as a statement of fact, to any foreign adversary which desires to exploit this moment to undermine the integrity of The Great Nation, of which I am a citizen, I would encourage them to pause and consider whether they truly understand what makes my Nation so great.

We seek peace with the world and we intend to bring an end to this illegal regime which defies the laws of our land and our peoples, but underestimate our resolve to preserve and protect at your own peril.


My fellow Americans, the road ahead is uncertain, at times the path may be obscured, but buoyed by the hope and optimism that defines The American Spirit and which has overcome so much, we will forge a new path in this 21st century and we will burn the bridge that might return us to the senseless of violence of centuries past.

I beg your indulgence as I recite the words from that beautiful Christian Hymn which I was taught as a child:

This little light of mine, 
I'm gonna let it shine,
Everywhere I go,
I'm gonna let it shine.

I am going to let my light shine, for it was a gift and no man shall have it.

Let your light shine, help your neighbor shine their light, never douse the light of another, and should you happen upon someone whose light has been doused share your own flame.

Take to heart and soul the words of Samuel Adams who said:

“It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting the brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”
